Description

This rhyolite was personally collected material from Arizona. It has eyes or orbs as some people call them. I collected it in the Goldfield Mountains in 2007 around Willow Springs. This area had all kinds of materials you could collect. Some of my Favorite where a druzy chalcedony. I found just a little bit of this Rhyolite that would polish. But I know there is more.

See more cabochons that I have sold in the past to get ideas of materials and shapes.

Make sure to visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jasper to see more examples of jasper type stones.

Rhyolite jasper is really consider a Rock or mixture of minerals. Not an actually mineral by itself. This material comes from Lava flows that were able to cool slower but not too slow. Sometimes it can be found mixed with Obsidian. And often there are cavities left from gas bubbles that agate is able to be filled into. There are a lot of examples of Orbicular Rhyolite on the market. Some of my favorite newer similar material to this is known as Arizona Mushroom Jasper. Lots of little eggs or eyes or orbs throughout the material. Really nice texture to the patterns. This cabochon has a simle fund claw shape that will set into a nice wire project.
