This is a nice Fire Opal Cabochon that was freehand cut. I believe it to come from Lighten Ridge in Australia but can’t say for certain. The photos are not the best at showing some color in the piece. In person this piece shows off really well and in sunlight the fire really is really nice. If I did a video it could show it off the piece better because it is a freehand cut with no girdle. The price is more than fair I believe. It is a very nice piece of Fire opal with green, gold, red, and some blue fire in it.
Visit my Sold cabochon Gallery to see past opals I have cut. You will find other examples of materials, shapes, sizes, colors, and in general see my work there. Some stones date back over 15 years in there. I don’t show everything I cut, just the ones I really liked over the years. Please let me know if you have any questions about those materials.
Its also important to visit your local rockclub if you have one near by. Its a great place to start if you are new to gems and minerals. Thank you.
